Potential Potential of a native araticum species as the rootstock of atemoya cultivars propagated by grafting methods

Technical and secure information on the production of quality atemoya seedlings (Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimola Mill.) are paramount importance due to growing interest in this crop. This study aimed assess formation propagated by grafting methods cultivars using araticum sylvatica) rootstocks. The experiment was carried out a screened environment at Western Paraná State University (Unioeste), Campus Marechal Cândido Rondon, State, Brazil. Atemoya grafts (Thompson, African Pride, Gefner) were collected from plants CATI seedling nursery, located São Bento do Sapucaí, Paulo Grafting performed 1-year-old rootstocks with 8–10 mm diameter height 15 cm ground measuring, average, 8.5 length, 10 diameter, three buds. experimental design consisted randomized blocks 3 × factorial arrangement (three methods: cleft graft, whip tongue chip budding cultivars: Thompson, Gefner), four replications per replication, totaling 40 treatment. percentage graft success (%), sprouting number sprouts, leaves, longest sprout length (cm) assessed 60 days after grafting. method is efficient for producing seedlings. cultivar Pride can be grafted onto methods, as they promote higher success. sylvatica rootstock has potential seedlings, but not viable.
